| Abstrak Eighth Year Students of MTS Negeri Palu Barat in Writing Descriptive Paragraph. Under the supervision of Dra. Hj. Sriati Usman, M.Hum and Hj. Hastini S. Pd, M.A. This research was carried out in order to prove whether or not the use Wh-Questions can improve the ability of the eighth year students of MTS Negeri Palu Barat in writing descriptive paragraph. This research was true experimental design (pre test and post test), which involved two sample groups. They were an experimental group (VIIIC), which consisted of 40 students and control group (VIIID), which consisted of 38 students. The sample were drawn from the population of five parallel VIII classes. The data of the research were collected by employing test. The test was analyzed by using statistic. The writer conducted eight times treatment to the experimental group by using Wh-Questions. By applying two-tailed test at 0,05 level of significance with 76 degree of freedom (df=40+38?2=76), the writer found that the tcounted value (8.38) was higher than the ttable value (2.000). It proved that the use of Wh-Questions can improve the ability of the eighth year students of MTS Negeri Palu Barat in writing descriptive paragraph |
