| Abstrak Improving Vocabulary Mastery of the Fifth Grade Students of SDN Inpres 2 Lolu through Matching Picture, under the supervision of Konder Manurung, and Budi. The problem of this research is,”Can the use of Matching Picture improve the vocabulary mastery of the fifth year students of SDN Inp. 2 Lolu”. This research aimed at proving whether the use of matching picture can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery. The population of this research was the fifth year students of 2010/2011 academic year. The sample of this research was selected by using total sampling technique to determine the sample. The researcher used two instruments to collect data, observation and test. The data gathered throught observation were analized descriptively. Then, the data gathered through test were statistically. The mean score of the pretest was 4.43, while the mean score of posttest is 7.25. In order to know the significant difference between pretest and posttest, the researcher compared the value of the ttable (10.6) with the value of the ttable (1.699) by applying the degree of freedom (df) = N-1 = 30-1 = 29, with the level of significant 0.05. Thus, it shows that tcounted (10.6) is greater than ttable (1.669). In conclusion, the hypothesis of the research that the vocabulary mastery of the fifth year students of SDN Inpres 2 Lolu can be improved through matching picture is accepted. |
