ABSTRACT Fidya Raihan. 2025 The Effectiveness of Wordwall Media in Teaching Narrative Text Reading to Students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. Skripsi. Bachelor’s Degree. Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Sukma. This research addresses the prevalent issue of low narrative text comprehension among students, which is attributed to traditional, less interactive teaching methods. Wordwall media was selected as an intervention strategy because it can deliver more engaging learning experiences and enhance student participation. The study evaluates the effectiveness of Wordwall media in improving narrative text reading comprehension among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Palu. The research employed an experimental approach using a pretest-posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample comprised two distinct classes: an experimental group that received instruction through Wordwall media (n=20) and a control group that followed conventional instructional methods (n=20). Data collection occurred through structured pretest and posttest assessments. Statistical analysis included normality testing, homogeneity evaluation, and Independent Samples T-test to determine the statistical significance of any observed differences between the experimental and control groups. The findings revealed significant differences between the control and experimental groups. Initial scores showed a mean of 71.00 for the control and 78.00 for the experimental classes. Post-intervention, the experimental group using Wordwall media improved to 91.40, while the control group declined to 64.60. Independent Samples T-test analysis yielded a significance value 0.000 (p<0.05), confirming statistically significant differences between groups. It supports the alternative hypothesis (Ha) that Wordwall media effectively enhances students' narrative text reading comprehension. The study concludes that Wordwall media significantly improves narrative text comprehension compared to traditional methods, recommending its use as an innovative medium for Indonesian language teaching.
