This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research aims to understand the implementation of the independent curriculum in the Indonesian Language subject at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research used a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data sources included primary data from interviews with various informants from SMP Negeri 6 Palu and secondary data from journals and previous research findings. Data collection methods involved interviews and documentation. The research findings indicated that the independent curriculum in Indonesian Language learning at SMP Negeri 6 Palu had been effectively executed, following the planning, implementation, and assessment steps. This success is attributed to the training received by educators and the availability of adequate resources and facilities. The availability of sufficient resources and facilities, as well as the professional development of teachers, are credited for this achievement. The independent curriculum implementation faces obstacles, such as the resistance of the school community to change. Efforts to address these problems included collaborative and coordinated initiatives with the education department to provide training programs to implement this curriculum better.
