Abstrak ABSTRACT Andi Seftian Harimu. 2022. Politeness in Directive Speech Actions for Adolescents in Pulias Village, Ogodeide District, Tolitoli Regency. The problems in this study, how is the form of politeness in directive speech acts in adolescents in Pulias Village, Ogodeide District, Tolitoli Regency, the function of politeness in directive speech acts in adolescents in Pulias Village, Ogodeide District, Tolitoli Regency, politeness strategies in directive speech acts for adolescents in Pulias Village, District of Tolitoli. Ogodeide, Tolitoli Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative, data collection is done by three techniques, namely (1) observation, (2) listening, (3) taking notes. The subjects of this study were teenagers and their parents when communicating. The analysis in this study includes four stages (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) concluding. The results showed that (1) The form of politeness in directive speech acts in adolescents in Pulias Village, Ogodeide District, Tolitoli Regency. a) the politeness of the directive command is indicated by the choice of the word hurry and get it. b) Politeness of directive invitations is indicated by the choice of the words come and let. c) The politeness of the prohibition directive is indicated by the choice of the word no. d) politeness of directive requests is indicated by the word request. (2) The function of politeness in directive speech acts in adolescents in Pulias Village, a) the function of commanding politeness is used to command, the function of politeness of invitation is to invite, the function of prohibition is to prohibit, the function of politeness to request is to ask. (3) politeness strategies in directive speech acts in Pulias Village include (1) direct orders, (2) direct invitations, (3) direct requests. The indirect strategy includes indirect demand.
