| Abstrak ABSTRACT SELY INDRIANI, 2019. Language Error Analysis in Text Lectures of Class XI Students of SMA Negeri 3 Palu; Thesis, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Department of Language and Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Advisors (1) Moh. Tahir This study examines language errors in the lecture text of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Palu. The purpose of this study was to describe the form of language errors in the lecture text of class XI SMS Negeri 3 Palu. This research is a type of qualitative research. Data collection is done by using evaluation techniques, namely giving assignments to write lecture texts to students, as well as documentation to collect data or documents in the form of lecture texts written by students and photographs when students work on assignments given by the teacher. The stages of analysis used are through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were 1) word selection errors included; the determination of the meaning of words, the determination of the form of words, the prevalence of the word used. 2) mistakes in sentence preparation include; illogical sentences, ambiguity sentences, excessive use of conjunctions, and use of foreign terms in the lecture text of class XI MIA 5 students of SMA Negeri 3 Palu.
