Keywords: Symbolic Value The problem in this research is, how the symbolic value of Modulu custom in the procession of bada tribal marriage. This study aims to determine the symbolic value found in the bada tribal wedding procession, and there are also benefits from this research as information material to the community, especially the Bada tribe, about the symbolic values contained in the marriage custom. The method used is the Qualitative method. data sources used are oral sources and written data. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, note taking techniques. The results of the study were the symbolic value of traditional customs in the procession of bada tribal weddings. Modulu is one of a series of activities in the traditional tribal community bada process that must be carried out by the bride and groom. From the results of research on the symbolic value of traditional customs in the procession of the Bada tribe marriage, namely (1) Bakul (bingka) is a symbol of appreciation or respect, (2) plain white rice (andea ta'u tobula) is a symbol of chastity and sincerity, (3) side dishes (halo bau) are symbols of spacious chest undergoing household new, (4) Umbut enau (new hepa'a) is a symbol of skill in various aspects of new household life, (5) The bargaining side dish (halo topo tabebe) is a symbol of compactness in fostering new households, (6) Leaves (tawe) is an economic symbol of a new household, (7) Rice sticky rice (andea pulu) is a symbol of adhesive marriage, (8) Cork fish (bou ebe) is a symbol of the skill of protecting children and wives. |
